Championing health and independence

In Tanzania’s severely under-resourced health and social care system, those living with disabilities are left with few opportunities for mobility, education and social interaction.

Advocating for the health, inclusion and well-being of people with a disability, the Chem Chem Association has donated more than 500 wheelchairs (and spare parts for repairs) to the people and public health facilities of the Manyara region, as well as other parts ofTanzania. By providing wheelchairs, we hope to facilitate a sense of belonging and community among people living with disabilities. This, in turn, will help them to break barriers by providing them with independence, improved health and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
